Card Benefits

0% APR

Citi Simplicity® Card offers 0% APR for 12 months on purchases, 21 months on qualified balance transfers. After the intro period ends, the go-to rate of 15.49% - 25.49% (variable) applies.

When you need extra cash for expensive purchases, you can take advantage of the 0% interest to buy now and then pay off the balance 12 months later. If you make minimum payments shown on your monthly credit-card statements, you can enjoy 0% APR to avoid paying any interest during the first 12 months of introductory period.

In addition to offering 0% interest on purchases, Citi Simplicity Card also allows you to have 0% interest on qualifying balance transfers. For example, if you carry a balance on another credit card, you can transfer the balance to your Citi Simplicity Card. In this way, you can save money by paying off the current balance and paying no interest for a long period of 21 months before you finally pay off the balance or arrange another balance transfer.

Balance Transfer Transaction Cost

For balance transfer transactions, there is a small fee. It charges a one-time transaction fee at 5% of the transferred balance with a minimum of $5, which is among the lowest of balance-transfer credit cards in the U.S. market.

For instance, if you currently have a credit-card balance of $12,000 with an interest rate of 25%, you can sign up for a new Citi Simplicity Card to initiate a balance transfer to save about $4,650. The potential interest fees on your current credit-card balance is about $5,250 for 21 months. And the transaction cost is $600 to perform the balance transfer. Therefore, the net savings is about $4,650. You can use our balance transfer calculator to find out how much you can save on balance transfers.
