Chase is making it even easier for military service members to make the most of their cash back rewards. In an effort to take some of the hassle out of managing their finances, cash back rewards earned with selected military credit cards will no longer be subject to expiration dates. As an added bonus, military members now have even more options than ever for redeeming rewards earned with their Chase Military Credit Card.
What Cards Are Eligible
Only military members who are signed up for certain cards can take advantage of the new rule on expiration dates and improved redemption options. According to Chase, these benefits are automatically available to new and existing card members who have a Military Star Rewards MasterCard, Marine Corps Community Service (MCCS) MasterCard, Army Morale, Welfare, Recreation (MWR) MasterCard®, Air Force Club MasterCard or Navy MWR MasterCard.
How Chase Military Cash Back Cards Work
Chase military cash back cards allow members to earn an unlimited amount of cash back on purchases, with no foreign transaction fees. This means that card members stationed overseas can save between 3% and 5% on fees, regardless of where they use their Chase military credit card. Eligible cards typically offer 2% cash back rewards for purchases made on-base and 1% everywhere else. Chase military credit cards don’t charge an annual fee, which means members can save even more while earning cash back.
Additional Redemption Options
Eligible military card members can now redeem their cash back earnings as a statement credit, paper check or a direct deposit into a Chase banking account. Cash back rewards can be redeemed starting at $20 and rewards can be redeemed at any time. In addition to redeeming rewards for cash, military members can also turn their cash back earnings into free travel through Chase Travel Rewards.
Other Chase Military Card Benefits
As an added bonus for military card members, Chase offers the Blue Star Deployment Program, which refunds 100% of interest and fees that accrue during deployment. There’s no minimum or maximum period of deployment required in order to claim the refund. Family members can continue to use their cards while a cardmember is deployed, which means you’ll continue to earn cash back rewards while you’re away from home.
Final Word
If you’re a Chase military card member, you now have even more convenience and flexibility when it comes to your cash back rewards. These cards make it easy to make the most of your cash back while saving more on interest and fees, both at home and abroad.
