The Chase Sapphire pays out rewards in Ultimate Rewards Points, which can be redeemed for cash or gift certificates at a 100-point-to-$1 value. Cash redemption starts at as few as 2000 points for $20 cash. Here is what you need to do: once you get your Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, register an online account with chase.com for online account management to redeem your points. When you redeem points, you can redeem 10000 points for a $100 check mailed to you at no cost. You also have options to redeem 2000 points for $20, 2500 points for $25, 5000 points for $50, etc. You may also redeem points for gift cards from familiar retailers like Best Buy, JC Penney, and others at a 10-20% discount.
Redeem Points for Travel
You can USE 20% FEWER POINTS when you redeem for travel. For example, a $500 flight that would require 50,000 points with Chase Sapphire card takes just 40,000 points with Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Just book your flight, cruise or other travel through Ultimate Rewards (chase's reward program). No cost, and you don't have to worry about paying high international purchase fees. The airfare prices are the same as you would see on any travel website.
Transfer Points to Frequent Flyer Programs at a 1:1 Ratio
Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card also lets you transfer your Ultimate Rewards Points to an existing hotel or airline loyalty program at a 1:1 ratio. 50,000 bonus points can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio to your frequent flier accounts of the following travel partners: United/Continental Airlines, British Airways, Amtrak, Korean Airlines, Hyatt, Marriott, and Priority Club. Transfers are generally instant, and can be made to anyone’s account.
